Frequently asked questions.

General Order FAQs

  • No, we are unable to offer free shipping at this time, but we offer fair (and not inflated) shipping prices. We offer free local delivery or drop-off to Daniels County in Montana and its surrounding counties. Arrangements need to be made for local delivery orders and they may have a longer wait on delivery than items shipping through a commercial carrier.

  • Production times will vary by season, volume of order and volume currently in the production queue, but normally it can be estimated:

Personalized Order (name-only or stock graphic with name): 7-10 business days

Custom Order (vector logo provided): 7-15 business days (1-3 weeks)

Custom order (logo - needs extra work): 10-20 business days (2-4 weeks)

Completely custom order: 20-30 business days (4-6 weeks)

  • We try to do the best we can if you have a deadline. Anything required in less than a week may be subject to a $50/hr rush-order fee because the work will need to be completed after-hours, so we keep the production queue moving for our other customers.

  • Yes. You can request any type of change to your order pre-production up until you approve the final proof. We will allow up to 3 revisions to every design to make sure it is perfect.

  • We do not replace personal items for any issues that arise that are out of our control and therefore wouldn’t recommend bringing in your great grandmother’s heirloom pendant. While rare, we are unable to predict how it will exactly react to new materials, especially for organic items, such as wood. Tumblers can be double-coated so the engraving doesn’t go all the way through, and sometimes scratches underneath the coating can be revealed after engraving.

We WILL do everything in our power to make it right and will do our best to replace items that didn’t meet your expectations on a case-by-case basis. Proofs are sent out before every job and it is the customer’s responsibility to check for spelling, typos, sizing and communicating any changes they would like made before production.

  • Yes! We engrave Ritchey brand livestock tags. We do not carry them in-stock, but you can have them shipped directly to us or we can pick up local orders at Lightfoot Vet Clinic in Scobey, MT, or other arrangements can be made.

Single line engraving (number only is $0.85/tag

    Two-line engraving (number and brand/logo) is $1.25/tag

    Three-line-engraving is $1.35/tag

The $15 set-up fee is waived for orders over 50 tags. One-time logo fees will apply if re-touching is needed. There are no fees for re-creation of brands.

  • Yes! We LOVE custom orders. Please refer to the FAQ for custom orders (below) to learn more.

Bulk/Commercial/Wholesale Order FAQs

  • Minimum orders vary by product. Most drinkware starts at 24 units per case for volume orders, which is the lowest in the industry.

Small items, like keychains, usually have a 25 or 50-piece minimum.

Wholesale retail orders have a $500 minimum.

  • Not always. We offer many mixed-case options, and colors can be chosen in quantities of 4-6 for drinkware (depending on type) and typically 25 for small promotional items.

Patches for hats must be ordered in quantities of at least 12 for each color.

  • If you would like a logo on your items, there is a one-time $30-50 artwork fee, depending on how much work is needed to convert your logo to make it suitable for engraving. This artwork will be saved for any future projects and will not be charged again as long as the logo does not change significantly.

Set-up fees are usually waived if we receive a logo in TRUE vector format, which is typically an Adobe Illustrator (.ai), CorelDraw (.cdr), Encapsulated Post-Script (.eps), Scalable Vector Graphic (.svg), or some .pdf files. Sending a .jpg file that is re-saved as a .eps is not a true vector file, and an artwork fee will apply.

For very specific, custom projects, a set-up fee may apply on top of the artwork fee.

There is a $15 set-up fee for tag engraving, which is waived for tag orders over 50.

  • We do stock a variety of products on hand, especially tumblers and water bottles, and have many vendors that we work with to give the most competitive pricing.

All products are high-quality and keep your drinks hot/cold for hours. We work with Polar Camel, Fifty/Fifty Bottles, Seriously Ice Cold (SIC), and many more.

If you or your customer has a specific brand, such as YETI, that you would like engraved, we accept shipments to our shop (you purchase and send to us) and can engrave for an engraving fee.

Purchasing an in-house brand is much more cost-effective than sending us other brands to engrave. Logo engraving for personal items is typically between $15-20 per piece, but contact us for pricing with high volumes.

  • We do typically require at least a 50% deposit in order to start the design and/or production process. The remainder of the cost will be due before shipment or delivery.

Customization FAQs

  • Engraving projects vary greatly, depending on the size, detail, and complexity of the project.

Most simple drinkware projects are $15-25 per item.

Pet tags, perpetual award plates, or small industrial plates are $10-15. (Bulk discounts available for tags)

Livestock tags range from $0.85-$1.35/tag (depending on line-items).

Artwork re-touching or creation is $50/hour. Most re-touching of logos for engraving is $30-40. This is a one-time fee that will not be charged for the same logo on additional orders.

  • The best way to place a custom order is fill out our custom-order form (link below), project-estimate form, call or e-mail sales@moonlightlaserworks.com

  • A small, non-refundable deposit is required to start the design process for custom orders.

We typically require at least a 50% deposit for a larger custom order in order to start the design process. The remainder of the cost will be due before shipment or delivery.

  • You can send all artwork to sales@moonlightlaserworks.com

It is best to send TRUE vector artwork, usually in the form of .ai, .eps, .cdr, .svg, or sometimes .pdf. A one-time re-touching fee will apply to low-resolution logos.

  • TRUE vector files work best for any type of printing or engraving. Those are in .ai, .eps, .svg, .cdr, or sometimes .pdf format.

“Converting” or changing the name of a JPEG to an EPS will NOT create true vector artwork and re-touching fees will apply.

If you do not have a vector file, the highest-resolution image that you have is best. Low quality files will product low-quality results.

Photographs are best send through e-mail in the highest, original resolution possible.

  • No. We are not licensed to engrave any pop-culture (Disney, Comic Book, TV show, Movie etc) or profession team logos at this time. These licenses are difficult to purchase, cost several thousands of dollars per year, and are ILLEGAL to use without proper licensing.

  • We do not engrave/print copyrighted material that does not belong to us.

We have a large database of stock-images that we can use commercially, and if you want something specific that we are able to purchase rights to create, then we will be able to work with that. We can also create something completely new and unique for you!

We cannot engrave/print artwork without written consent from the copyright holder.

  • Yes! We are now offering full color logos, photographs, and graphics. Full-color decoration can be done on most items we offer.

We cannot offer full color on handled mugs or uneven surfaces.

Drinkware FAQs

  • Yes! We stock replacement lids AND alternative lids for all the brands that we carry.

We also offer our “standard” Polar Camel open-mouth lid replacements for free with $2 shipping with proof of previous purchase.

  • It depends on the brand and style. most Polar Camel tumblers without handles come with a “Standard” open-mouth lid.

Handled Polar Camel mugs, FIFTY/FIFTY and SIC Brand tumblers come with a slide lid.

Slide, magnetic slide, and flip/snap lids can be purchased separately.

  • We recommend hand-washing all of your drinkware to keep the insulating properties for years. All drinkware can be cleaned with hot, soapy water.

  • Hand-washing with warm/hot, soapy water is the best way to keep your drinkware looking its best. We do not recommend dishwashing or the integrity of the insulating layers could fail.

No harsh chemicals (such as bleach), or freezing liquids within the tumbler is recommended.

Leatherette tumblers should not be soaked for extended periods.

  • Tumbler or Water Bottle engraving of a personal item typically ranges from $15-25, depending on what is required. We do not carry this brand in stock.

A one-time artwork fee may apply to a logo that needs to be re-touched for engraving. Engraving fees will vary by the amount of engraving time required to perform the job. For example, a full-wrap engraving will be significantly more than just a name going down the side of a bottle.

  • Make sure the black rubber seal is laying flat and flush within the groove of the lid. Twist the lid as you push down to help seat it in place when the seal is very tight. If you still cannot seat the lid or if the lid is too loose, send your contact information and order number to sales@moonlightlaserworks.com and we will get you a new lid.

  • The leatherette sleeves are glued on and cannot be removed without destroying the sleeve. As such, they need to be washed with minimal water and are not to be soaked in water, to make sure they last for years. If a section starts pulling up after significant use, it can be re-glued with household super glue.

The silicone sleeves are removable for cleaning but can take a little maneuvering to put back on.
